Aluminium Deutschland and Deutsche Aluminium Verpackung Recycling GmbH (DAVR) are creating a valuable synergy for the recycling of aluminium packaging. DAVR was taken over by Aluminum Deutschland at the beginning of July and continues its work as an AD working group.
As of 1 July Aluminium Germany (AD) the tasks of the DAVR will be taken over. The existing DAVR GmbH will be dissolved and continued as an AD working group on behalf of the shareholders. The aim of DAVR is to Promote the image of packaging, particularly with regard to recycling, to further optimise collection and sorting and thus make a contribution to the sustainable development of aluminium packaging. This is done in cooperation with dual systems, waste disposal companies, recyclers and institutes as well as with the WirtschaftsVereinigung Metalle and the European Aluminium Packaging Market Group.
Due to the existing Expertise in the fields of aluminium recycling and aluminium packaging the integration of DAVR creates valuable synergies. AD already looks after the specialist associations for recycling, semi-finished aluminium products and tubes, cans and extruded parts, thus covering the relevant range of topics at DAVR. In addition, AD supports working groups and task forces on aluminium beverage can, which has a recycling rate of approx. 99 percent in Germany. shines. The first DAVR contact person will be AD recycling expert Jörg Schäfer, supported by Seifeldin Raslan Mohamed.
„Packaging applications are highly relevant in the public perception due to their proximity to consumers. The decarbonisation of the aluminium industry and therefore efficient recycling are of central importance to us as an industry and association. Aluminium, with its outstanding recycling properties, and its innovative industry are key to greater resource efficiency and make an important contribution to climate protection. We are therefore looking forward to the tasks and challenges associated with the DAVR takeover.“
