Production in the German aluminium industry stabilised at a low level overall in the first quarter of 2025. According to Aluminium Germany, recycled aluminium production rose by 3% to around 703,000 tonnes. The production of semi-finished aluminium products increased by 1 per cent overall.
While rolled products recorded an increase of 2 per cent to 456,000 tonnes, the production of extruded products fell by 2 per cent to 121,000 tonnes. Demand remains weak, the report continues, even if the lower aluminium price has led to customers increasing their stocks in the short term.
