Amcor is expanding its North American capacity for printing, laminating and converting in the protein segment - one of the largest investment projects in the company's history. The measure is aimed at meeting the growing demand from the meat, poultry and fish industries for flexible, sustainable packaging solutions.
The plant in Oshkosh (Wisconsin) will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which is scheduled to go into operation in stages by mid-2026. With the new facilities, Amcor aims to increase production output in the areas of mouldable and non-mouldable packaging and at the same time accelerate the transition to recyclable materials in the AmPrima range.
According to Scott Fallon, Global Vice President and General Manager of Amcor Flexibles' Protein Division, the investment underlines the company's long-term growth strategy and technological leadership in the protein market. The expanded capacities are intended to help customers achieve their sustainability goals and respond flexibly to changing market requirements.
With this expansion, Amcor says it is consolidating its position as an important partner to the protein industry and continuing to drive forward the development of efficient, responsible packaging solutions.
