Andreas Kopp AG from Ettingen (Switzerland) is celebrating its 30th birthday this year. Before Andreas Kopp founded the company in Switzerland - near Basel - in 1989, he had lived and worked in Asia for a long time. Today, his company specialises in customised and customer-specific packaging solutions.
International customers
Right from the start, Andreas Kopp produced fine tinplate boxes and quickly made a name for himself with other toiletry cases and practical boxes. Customer base in the food, cosmetics and advertising sectors in Switzerland, Germany and France. Its customers include Nestlé, Confiserie Sprüngli, Chocolat Frey, Kambly and Läckerli Huus.
The exact Knowledge of the Chinese production facilities proved to be an advantage for Kopp. The company plans and coordinates all international production, trading and sales activities from Ettingen.
At the same time, a branch in Hong Kong organises samples and acceptance prints and is in direct contact with the contracting companies. Another branch is located in the neighbouring metropolis of Shenzhen, from where the company's own toolmaking is coordinated.
Challenges become honours
The company achieved a real masterpiece in the spring of 2000 with a Packaging in the shape of the Lake Lucerne steamer „Uri“. The order from Läckerli Huus AG in Basel presented the company with the great challenge of designing detailed packaging based on pictures and a construction plan of the original.
With 34 individual parts, the metal tin even became a collector's item of packaging art and spurred Andreas Kopp AG on to realise further tins of this kind. In 2011, the company was initially awarded the Swiss Packaging Award for the Kambly Bretzeli tin filled with the Emmental brand biscuits.
Further awards followed with the Swiss Packaging Institute SVI public awards for the Camille Bloch Zytglogge tin can in 2014 and for the FrischSchoggi tin from Läderach AG in 2018.

Focus on sustainability and customer service
Andreas Kopp retired from the operational business in 2017 and Monica Malonni-Kopp and long-time employee Yanick Grenal took over the management. However, Andreas Kopp is still the owner and Chairman of the Board of Directors. The company currently employs 14 people, eleven of whom work in Switzerland and three in Hong Kong.
„We naturally want to continue to grow steadily and steadily. China is also changing as a manufacturing country, so we are facing up to the new challenges there in terms of ecology and sustainability.“
Monica Malonni-Kopp, Managing Director of Andreas Kopp AG
The focus is on high quality and innovation at fair prices as well as customer service. Since this year, the company has been a member of the climate protection consultant „ClimatePartner“ and thus wants to make its contribution to climate compensation.
