Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) and the Stiftung Initiative Mehrweg (SIM) are organising the Reusable Innovation Award for the 14th time. The two organisations are calling on bottlers, product designers, bottle manufacturers, logistics companies and beverage companies with progressive ideas to apply for the award. Outstanding achievements and initiatives that contribute to the innovative further development of reusable systems for beverage packaging will be honoured.

„Regional reusable systems make an important contribution to achieving the statutory climate protection targets and help to save resources. Further innovations in this area can reduce the burden on the environment even further. Because even with well-functioning reusable systems, there are always New starting points for further optimisation, such as packaging weights, circulation figures, rinsing processes, washing procedures, logistics structures and much more. With the Reusable Innovation Award, we want to highlight exemplary developments and bring them into widespread use in order to further expand the ecological advantage of reusable over disposable,“ says DUH Federal Managing Director Barbara Metz.

„Whether for bottles, cups, food boxes or transport crates, reusable packaging has huge market potential to take off, which is why now is the right time to invest in innovations. With the Reusable Innovation Award, we want to draw attention to the best innovations. For the environment, sustainable supply chains and satisfied consumers. We are therefore looking forward to receiving as many applications as possible.“
