Fruit jars get a new shape

Because consumers have repeatedly requested easier access to the contents, the fruit jars from Odenwald have been given a new design. The new shape was developed by the Ardagh Group.

The glasses are available in three different sizes and all mimic the shape of a glass bowl. The profile of the jars is lower and wider than the original design, with a generous opening. The rounded corners and wide opening make it easy to use the entire product inside and avoid waste.

The Odenwald brand is embossed on the front and back of the jar, while a new leaf design conveys the naturalness of the product inside. The embossing is positioned inside the sides of the jar to give users a firm grip.

„One of the biggest challenges in the design was to find the optimum position for the leaf decoration on the sides of the glasses. We decided to design the leaves both by embossing and de-embossing inside the glass to create the necessary grip on the one hand and to avoid contact from glass to glass during transport on the other.“
