New rhythm for automatica

At the end of June, the automation industry will meet at automatica 2023. The trade fair will change its rhythm and take place in odd-numbered years.

From 27 to 30 June, the automation industry will meet in Munich for automatica 2023, changing the rhythm of the trade fair and now taking place every odd-numbered year in parallel with LASER World of PHOTONICS.

Just one year after returning from the enforced break, the automatica - leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics - will take place again from 27 to 30 June 2023. The reason for this is the change to a new rhythm. From now on, the international automation industry is always held in odd-numbered years at the Munich Exhibition Centre, parallel to LASER World of PHOTONICS - The world's leading trade fair and congress for photonics components, systems and applications.

„Our lives are increasingly determined by global challenges such as supply chain issues or a shortage of skilled labour. Robotics and automation are key technologies that offer the right solutions. Only intelligently automated and digitally networked production can be economical and sustainable. automatica in Munich shows how this works.“

Around four and a half months before the start of the event, the hall areas are filling up and the entire value chain of robotics and automation is represented. Three key topics will take centre stage at automatica 2023. This includes Digital integration and AI, sustainable production and the future of work. The area of digital integration and AI focuses on augmented/virtual reality and digital twins, among other things.

Sustainable production is made up of the elements CO2-neutrality, circular economy, changeability of production and AI, green tech. The future of work is closely linked to the terms Human-machine collaboration, service robotics and mobile robotics linked. Under the motto „ease-of-use“, SMEs and less automated sectors far beyond the manufacturing industry are also to be included. Gain access to automation and thus support in compensating for the shortage of skilled labour.

Orientation in artificial intelligence

With two events to date, the high-tech platform munich_i has developed into one of the leading formats for robotics and AI.

„Together with our partner MIRMI (Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence) at the Technical University of Munich, we are very pleased to once again provide orientation in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics this year and at the same time place these developments in an ethical and social context.“

Anja Schneider

munich_i consists of the High-Tech Summit on Wednesday, 28 June 2023, the robotics and AI special show AI.Society with its extensive supporting programme, consisting of politics, business and science, as well as the hybrid robotics competition called Robothon.

Visitors can also look forward to a special programme on the four days of the fair. Extensive supporting programme. In addition to proven formats such as the Start-up Arena, the joint stands for industrial image processing or smart maintenance and the forum stages automatica 2023 will focus on the following topics:

„AMRs in production“, service robotics and the promotion of young talent. „The focal points in the supporting programme have great potential for dialogue and discussion. We expect this to provide particular added value for all participants.“

Anja Schneider

This year, the TestZone for robot models will focus in particular on small and medium-sized companies with a low level of automation.
