AutoStore is announcing a change with its spring product launch at LogiMAT 2026. The launch is intended to point the way to a more standardised, software-defined fulfilment model in which intelligent systems coordinate workflows, data influences decisions in real time and automation evolves in parallel with operational requirements.

The technology provider for fulfilment solutions pursues an ecosystem approach that brings together technology, intelligent systems and a global community to increase added value across all systems.

In this way, AutoStore meets the changing requirements in the logistics industry. It is no longer just a question of whether warehouses should be automated, but how machines, software, data and people can be connected to form a single, intelligent fulfilment system - a system that is capable of coordinating increasingly complex fulfilment networks and improving decisions on a large scale.

Product highlights at LogiMAT

Product highlights such as AutoCase for automated storage and retrieval of entire cartons directly in the AutoStore Grid or the FlexBins of different sizes, which enable more flexible storage and extended SKU handling, will take centre stage at the LogiMAT trade fair. Frozen-Only-Grid was specially developed for deep-freeze applications and use at temperatures as low as -25 °C, for example in food or healthcare logistics. Further developments to existing hardware and software solutions will also be presented, including AI-supported optimisations, simplified system upgrades and more efficient installation and safety concepts.

Retail in particular is increasingly characterised by autonomous systems and AI-supported decision-making processes. Accordingly, fulfilment can no longer be seen as the last step in the operational process, but must form its basis: always available, reliable and intelligent enough to function in a permanently active retail environment.

„A highly automated ‚lights-out warehouse‘ or ‚dark warehousing‘ is not about completely removing the human factor from the operational business - but about eliminating friction from fulfilment. It shows what intelligent systems can ultimately achieve: an environment in which reliability and autonomy reach a whole new level of consistency, predictability and resilience.“

Parth Joshi, Chief Product Officer, AutoStore

In this way, „lights-out“ is not a moment that is achieved at the time of commissioning, but a state that is worked towards - by continuously developing the system.
