AWA Alexander Watson Associates has announced the acquisition of the Active & Intelligent Packaging Industry Association (AIPIA), strengthening its position in the field of active and intelligent packaging and labelling solutions. The acquisition is intended to significantly expand the information, analysis and network offering of the market research and consulting company.

AWA describes the move as an important milestone in expanding its activities in the growing segment of connected and smart packaging. Since its foundation in 2011, AIPIA has been an internationally recognised driver for the development and introduction of active and intelligent technologies in the packaging sector.
