Neopac has received the Hungaropack 2024 Award from the Hungarian Packaging and Materials Management Association. The award recognises Neopac's Polyfoil MMB mono-material barrier tubes, which are used for the Elmex toothpaste brand.

The Polyfoil MMB mono-material barrier tube combines pharmaceutical-grade product protection, user-friendliness and attractive aesthetics. Compared to conventional tubes, Polyfoil MMB tubes can reduce the CO2 footprint of packaging by up to 38 per cent. Thanks to an inner layer that comes into contact with the product the tubes offer good product protection and compatibility with a wide range of formulations.

The patented tube is based on an innovative, adhesive-laminated process - in contrast to the existing solutions with blown or extruded films used by dental care brands. The advantages: extended barrier protection and design options for the tube body. The tube's shoulder and cap are made from low MFI HDPE. The tube has only two per cent foreign material.

Thanks to Neopac's advances in material science, the Polyfoil MMB tube achieves these goals without compromising the printing and decoration capabilities of traditional Polyfoil tubes. The solution is ready for recycling in PE hard material streams; In fact, this tube and cap combination was the first of its kind to receive the stringent technology and product approval from RecyClass in the EU and the US APR Critical Guidance. Circpack Veolia rated the Polyfoil MMB tube as recyclability class A.
