To mark its 153rd birthday, BACARDÍ has made the first change to its packaging design in over a decade. The redesigned bottle reflects the brand's unique history and timeless quality.
As one of the most popular and best-selling spirits in the world, BACARDÍ is also one of the best „Trending Rums“ 2015 for the Drinks International Top 50 Bars. BACARDÍ is served day after day in top bars around the world. For this reason, BACARDÍ has collaborated with some world-class bartenders and developed a bottle that is precisely tailored to their needs.
Glass and label
The classic glass colour „Georgia Green“ has remained the same. The slimmer and slightly larger design ensures easier handling and quicker access at the bar. Professional bartenders benefit from better ergonomics thanks to the improved weight distribution of the bottle.
Each new bottle of the light and dark rum varieties is adorned with unusually decorated labels, each of which tells a short story about the family history, the brand and the rum that characterises the style. Recycled sugar cane fibre, a by-product of rum production, was used to make the paper labels.
Relaunch with a view to tradition
Many of the features associated with the brand historically associated have been retained and reworked for the new bottle. The legendary BACARDÍ logo with the bat symbolises happiness, health and family cohesion and was inspired by hand-drawn Bacardi bat designs from around 1900. The design of the bottle itself is strongly influenced by the art deco style and refers to the unrivalled history and origins of the brand.
The new packaging also sees the return of the original Spanish names for the rum portfolio: Superior, Gold and Black become „Carta Blanca“, „Carta Oro“ and „Carta Negra“. The new packaging design was launched in the UK in February and will be rolled out to other markets worldwide from April.
