Baumer hhs is an „Advanced Partner“ of the special show touchpoint packaging at drupa 2020 (16 - 26 June in Düsseldorf). As a supplier of innovative adhesive application systems for folding carton production and print finishing, among other things, the Krefeld-based company is contributing its many years of practical expertise to this project organised by Messe Düsseldorf, which it is using to help shape the future of packaging production.
At touchpoint packaging, Baumer hhs will be focussing on the sustainable use of resources in the packaging production of tomorrow.

Optimising the use of adhesives in industrial applications has always been one of the core competencies of our company, which has repeatedly brought pioneering solutions to the market in this area. At touchpoint packaging, we will be demonstrating in a project how packaging manufacturers can optimise their Reduce adhesive consumption without having to compromise on the quality and durability of their bondings. We also present our GlueCalc app for smartphones, which enables manufacturers to quickly and easily realise cost savings and reduce CO2-emissions if they glue packaging with glue dots instead of glue beads,“ announces Brandt.
No UV tracers and colourants
In a second project, Baumer hhs is demonstrating ways in which the Production of packaging UV tracers and colourants can be dispensed with in future.
„The use of UV tracers and dyes in the production of packaging materials can lead to contamination of the fibre cycle and, in the case of food packaging, to undesirable contamination. If these materials can be dispensed with, manufacturers of food-compliant packaging will be able to significantly reduce the risk of contamination. Process reliability - and therefore also for brand manufacturers and consumers,“ explains Brandt.
