With the new CorrBox Solution evo, Baumer hhs is expanding its portfolio for adhesive application and quality assurance in flexo folder gluers (FFG). The system family now comprises three variants - CorrBox Solution go, evo and pro - which are specifically tailored to different market segments and requirements.

While the CorrBox Solution go is Entry-level solution for precise adhesive application the evo and pro variants offer the Fully integrated systems with comprehensive quality control. The CorrBox Solution evo has been specially developed for high-volume production where high output, consistent quality and maximum cost efficiency are required.

The modular system is available in a single or double-sided version as well as an inverted version, which applies the adhesive either from above or below. In series production - for shipping cartons, for example - the CorrBox Solution evo Precise adhesive application with minimal set-up times and continuous process control.

The central element of all CorrBox systems is the Multiple application head PX 1000. Its electromagnetic drive ensures a high clamping force and precise starting behaviour, guaranteeing uniform adhesive application from the very first product. The system is complemented by the tried-and-tested KPE 6 and KPE 9 pumps, which for adhesives of different viscosities are designed.

Sensor monitors every adhesive trace

A key feature of the evo variant is the newly developed Sensor CS 1000, which monitors every adhesive track in real time. The sensor operates in the visible optical range and achieves optimum results where a clear contrast between substrate and adhesive consists of. It therefore detects brown corrugated board just as reliably as white material with blue-coloured adhesive - even at the highest machine speeds.

For more complex applications, such as printed materials, the high-end PGD 1000 sensor is available in the CorrBox Solution pro. This operates in a special spectral range and checks not only the presence but also the quality of the adhesive application independent of the surface.

All CorrBox systems feature Glue Save Mode, a stitching technology, which can reduce adhesive consumption by up to 50 per cent - without sacrificing strength. Tests show that edge stability even increases and the box compression test remains stable.
