Bericap has acquired Embankment Plastics in Ireland to strengthen its presence in the closure solutions sector. The acquisition expands its portfolio and local expertise.

The packaging industry faces the challenge of constantly tapping into new markets while also offering innovative solutions. In this context, Bericap, a leading provider of closure solutions, has taken a significant step: the company has acquired Embankment Plastics, an Irish-based company, to further expand its market presence.

Strategic expansion in Ireland

Embankment Plastics, founded in 1977 and located near Dublin, has made a name for itself in the manufacture of closures for the dairy, food, and technical industries. The acquisition by Bericap allows the company to combine its extensive range of plastic and aluminium closures with existing and new capabilities in Ireland. The integration of Embankment Plastics as a subsidiary of Bericap UK will facilitate the use of shared resources while retaining local control.

Local expertise meets global network

Bericap is known for its specialised research and development centres, as well as its own mould-making shop, which enable the company to develop innovative and environmentally friendly closure solutions. With 31 production sites worldwide, Bericap serves customers in over 100 countries.

Growth potential and future developments

The acquisition is another step in Bericap's global expansion strategy. The Irish market has proven to be a strong growth area in recent years. In the short term, the company will continue to operate under the name Embankment Plastics before being fully integrated into the Bericap structure.
