Berry Global is investing in new stretch hood production lines in Germany and Poland to meet the growing demand for sustainable pallet protectors.
Packaging manufacturer Berry Global is strengthening its activities in the field of industrial pallet protection and expanding its production capacities with two new stretch hood systems. These will be installed at the Steinfeld (Lower Saxony) and Zdzieszowice (Poland) sites. The aim is to meet the growing demand for efficient and environmentally friendly packaging solutions.
Efficiency and sustainability combined
According to the manufacturer, stretch hood films from Berry are characterised by high tear resistance, flexibility and versatility. They ensure stable load units and product protection in various industries. A key advantage is that no heat is required for the application, which eliminates the need for energy-intensive shrink tunnels - a plus point in terms of energy efficiency and CO₂ savings.
The films could also be produced with different proportions of post-consumer recyclate (PCR). Berry uses recycled plastics that are certified according to RecyClass standards. This certification guarantees the traceability and quality of the recyclates - an increasingly important aspect for companies that value sustainable supply chains, according to the company.
Market development and strategic investments
According to Daniel Stauber, Sales Director at Berry Global, there is a continuously high demand for safe, efficient and sustainable pallet securing solutions. The current investments should help to meet this demand and at the same time fulfil the increasing requirements for environmental compatibility.
