Andreas Backs takes over management role at Beumer

Andreas Backs is the new Director Global Sustainability at the Beumer Group. In this role, he is responsible for the development and implementation of the Group's global sustainability strategy.

His responsibilities therefore include formulating a vision and goals, evaluating key issues and developing a roadmap to measure and improve performance in this area. He is also responsible for communicating with stakeholders and training employees.

Backs has been with the Beumer Group since September 2022. Prior to that, he worked for an international management consultancy for almost two years, including as a sustainability expert. He spent just over four years at the TÜV Nord Group first as a project manager, then as a product manager for sustainability. Finally, he headed the programme for auditing sustainability reports. Andreas Backs completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Environmental Science and Technology at the Technical University of Berlin.

„For the Beumer Group, the topic of global sustainability offers a special opportunity,“ says Andreas Backs. „This is because we prefer to supply our products to industries and markets that are not considered sustainable.“ He also sees the particular appeal of being able to contribute to greater sustainability and solve global problems.
