Biofach, the world's leading trade fair for organic food, will take place in Nuremberg from 11 to 14 February 2025. At the same time, the Biofach Congress under the motto „Yes, we do! - How change can succeed in the organic food industry“ will provide a platform for dialogue on sustainable developments and innovative solutions in the industry.

The congress consists of seven thematic forums and is complemented by a comprehensive supporting programme. Focal points include the development of the organic market, political framework conditions, sustainability and Future trends in retail and out-of-home catering.

Sustainable financing is a key topic. At the event „SOLD! Organic in public catering

The importance of organic in the Out-of-home catering will be the subject of a special area in Hall 6 and in the STADTLANDBIO forum. One focus is on the EU project „SchoolFood4Change“, which presents approaches for healthy and sustainable school catering. The topic will be complemented by the event „Organic Cities Network - Organic food and the decisive role of public procurement“, in which best-practice examples from various countries will be presented.

Live presentations and cookery demonstrations, including the Bioland format „Farm to table in the Michelin-starred kitchen“ with Sebastian Junge from the Slow Food Chef Alliance, offer practical insights into the implementation of organic concepts in the catering trade.

Innovations in the organic food trade

The Specialist Retail Forum highlights current challenges and opportunities for the organic trade. In the presentations „’AI‘ as a success factor? How organic shops can utilise new technology for their own purposes...“ and „Smart & Green: How AI reveals the organic shoppers of the future“ will analyse the role of artificial intelligence in retail.

Another key topic is the market opportunities for organic products. Events such as „How much organic is possible in SEH today? Who delivers?“ and „Organic in food retail: Where are the current opportunities for full-range retailers and branded companies?“ examine current developments and prospects for the food retail sector.

Market figures, trends and start-ups

The Biofach Congress offers a comprehensive overview of current market trends. Current developments will be presented in the sessions „The German Organic Market - Facts, Figures, Analysis 2025“ and „Global Organic Market“.
