Gerresheimer will be presenting glass packaging solutions for food, natural cosmetics and food supplements at Biofach 2026. The focus will be on concepts for reducing the carbon footprint through recycled glass and lightweight glass designs.
At Biofach 2026 in Nuremberg, Gerresheimer will be presenting glass packaging solutions that are specifically tailored to the requirements of the organic and natural food industry. The trade fair presentation will focus on sustainable solutions that safely protect organic products and at the same time meet the requirements of brand identity and design. For example, Gerresheimer offers glass packaging with a high proportion of recycled glass, designs made of lightweight glass or for refilling.
According to the company, the portfolio supports manufacturers of organic food, beverages, natural cosmetics and food supplements in reducing the carbon footprint of their products. Glass is an established packaging material in these segments as it is inert, reliably protects the contents and is also highly recyclable.
Sensitive organic products safely packaged
Gerresheimer emphasises the importance of glass for product safety, especially for sensitive organic and natural products. The material protects against external influences and chemical reactions and can be recycled indefinitely. Glass also plays an important role in the brand image, as it conveys transparency and value.
The company has a broad portfolio of white and amber glass packaging for various applications - from edible oils and functional beverages to cosmetic products and food supplements. In addition to standard solutions, Gerresheimer also offers customised packaging concepts ranging from development and design to finishing.
Another focus is on the decarbonisation of glass production. According to Gerresheimer, it is pursuing ambitious climate targets and is focussing on the increased use of recycled glass, energy-efficient melting technologies and renewable energies, among other things. The aim is to significantly reduce direct emissions from production and energy supply.
