The South Korean biotechnology company Bioneer has equipped nine labelling lines for corona test kits with Herma basic labellers. In addition to side labels, they also apply top labels that seal the lid.

At Bioneer in South Korea, a total of nine lines are now labelled simultaneously by one Herma basic the Boxes with Covid-19 test kits in large quantities. The product handling systems into which the labellers were integrated were supplied by Hanshin Labelling, the South Korean sales partner of Hermaspecially designed and installed for these requirements within a very short time.

When labelling the Bioneer test kits, the labellers not only have to apply a side label to the boxes, but also a top label that is almost 300 millimetres long. It closes the lid on the front and back, so it takes over the labelling of the box. a tamper evidence function in addition to labelling. The interaction between the labeller and the product handling system must be perfectly coordinated - especially in view of the relatively large labels - and also in terms of synchronising the speed. This is the only way to ensure that the label is applied without wrinkles or misalignment. Each line at Bioneer currently uses 40 boxes per minute labelled and sealed.

Herma basic: robust, economical and precise

The Herma basic was specially developed as a robust labeller to solve standard tasks economically and precisely. "Manufactured on the same production lines and according to the same strict quality standards as the Herma 500 high-performance labellers, the Herma basic is also characterised by reliability and process safety," says Christoph Illichmann, Team Leader Area Sales at Herma Etikettiermaschinen. "These are particularly important criteria in the pharmaceutical sector." The simple integration, uncomplicated operation and ease of maintenance of the labellers have also played a decisive role in making the Labelling lines into operation within the shortest possible time and ensure their smooth operation.
