Labelling supplier Bluhm Systeme GmbH from Rheinbreitbach has developed two new special systems for product labelling of tiny cosmetic products and either round or square pharmaceutical vials.
Cosmetic products can be quite tiny. Lip balms, for example, don't offer much space for product labelling. And also the handling of these small products for optimum alignment during the labelling process can quickly become a challenge.
For the labelling and marking of the smallest cosmetic products Bluhm Systems has developed a special labelling system. This Geset 700 labelling system consists of an Alpha HSM label dispenser, a laser marker and corresponding conveyor technology. Up to 150 cylindrical cosmetic products per minute provides the system with pre-printed labels and individual batch labelling all round.
In the new Law 700 become reliably transports the tiny cylindrical products during the entire labelling processA vibrating belt transports the upright pins to a product turner, which tilts them by 90 degrees with the help of a screw. In a horizontal position, the products are placed on so-called prism rollers, which transport them through the system at a fixed distance.
To ensure traceability, the lip balms must be labelled with individual batch information. A laser marker provides the labels with this data before they are dispensed. For safety reasons, a camera immediately validates the print information.

Double check of the labelling result
The dispensing tongue of the label web is located above the prism rollers. As soon as the pin and label meet here, the pin is set in a rotary motion so that the label can automatically wrap around the product. The presence and correct position of the labels are then immediately checked so that incorrectly labelled products can be ejected. Perfectly labelled products are finally ejected at right angles to the direction of transport.

Better safe than sorry: labelling of medicinal products with triple checks
For the pharmaceutical industry in particular, with its high demands on process reliability and traceability, Bluhm Systeme developed a further variant of the Act 700 for the labelling of medicinal products. The Geset 700 labelling system is particularly suitable for the fully automatic wrap-around labelling of round and square containers such as jars or bottles.
The new Geset 700 variant has via three safety controls that use cameras to monitor the critical steps throughout the entire labelling processCamera 1 determines the volume of the containers to be labelled in order to transmit the perfect positioning of the labels to the labelling technology. If the alignment of the label is not correct, the product is ejected.
Camera 2 recognises faulty labels and ensures that these are not dispensed onto the products, but onto a specially developed „empty roll“. This roll enters the labelling field and removes the incorrect label from circulation. Camera 3 checks the content and readability of the data matrix codes printed on the labels.
Like all Geset 700 systems, this variant can also be switched off at the touch of a button. convert to a wide range of products. If all labelling parameters have been saved in advance, all relevant system parts move to their new position fully automatically when the product is changed.
