Baumer hhs is expanding its CorrBox Solution system for adhesive application and monitoring in the production of corrugated cardboard packaging with flexo folder gluers (FFG) to include the newly developed Bundle 24 function, which enables the automatic, reliable ejection of faulty boxes.

„With the CorrBox Solution, we have rethought adhesive application and its monitoring in the production of corrugated packaging from the ground up. The new system, which is fully integrated into our Xtend3-Bundle 24 function integrated into the control system makes the CorrBox Solution even more attractive for our customers - it allows them to next step towards zero-defect packaging production„, explains .

The Xtend3-Baumer hhs control units are recognised in the global market for their intuitive ease of use. Thanks to the seamless and complete integration into the control concept, machine operators can now also control the bundling function via the 21.5-inch HD multi-touch screen of the Xtend3-control unit. You therefore need the following for the Bundle 24 function neither an additional controller nor a separate control cabinet.

„After purchasing and installing the Bundle 24 CorrBox installation kit in their Flexo-Folder-Gluer, our customers only need to have the bundling function activated by our Customer Care team. They can then immediately make full use of the convenience of this solution for ejecting faulty boxes.“

The CorrBox Solution reliably recognises all faulty products and applies a lateral marking behind the glue control. The new bundling function tracks the faulty boxes with the aid of three light barriers to behind the machine's counting station. There, it triggers a signal for the ejector for bundles with faulty folding boxes, which automatically ejects these bundles.

This convenience of the Bundle 24 function brings several advantages for Baumer hhs customers: Bundles with missing products can be removed by the machine operators if time permits. Interruption of production is not necessary, and the machine can continue to produce at full speed. „Our customers also don't have to colour-code the bottom folding boxes of the bundles concerned, as is the case with other bundling functions available on the market. This results in additional waste with these functions. This is eliminated with our Bundle 24 function - which in turn benefits the sustainability of packaging production. In addition our system does not require expensive camera systems for the ejector signal. In short, quality control in the folder-gluer process with the aim of zero-defect production has never been so simple and efficient,» emphasises Schneiders.
