IMA will be presenting its pharma and medtech solutions at CPHI Frankfurt 2025. Among other things, the TILE-X gloveless filling system, a continuous manufacturing corner and the X-PEN modular platform for injection devices will be on show.
The pharmaceutical and medical technology division of the IMA Group has announced a combined presence at CPHI Frankfurt 2025. The company intends to showcase application-oriented machines and lines for processing and packaging at the trade fair. According to the company, the focus will also be on projects relating to digitalisation, sustainability and service.
TILE-X: Gloveless solution for small RTU batches
IMA Life will be focussing on the TILE-X system at the trade fair. According to the company, it is a completely gloveless solution for filling and closing small RTU preparations, designed for high-quality products such as personalised medicines, cell & gene therapies and ATMPs. Electromagnetic motion technology and automated changeover of the filling needle and the single-use impactors are designed to increase process reliability; the design complies with Annex 1 of the GMP guideline.
Continuous manufacturing and OSD expertise
IMA Active emphasises the further development of continuous processes for Oral Solid Dosage (OSD). This includes a joint presentation with Continuus Pharmaceuticals and the transfer of continuous concepts to existing technologies such as compression and coating. The aim is to build integrated, flexible lines and achieve precise process control.
X-PEN: Modular platform for pen and autoinjectors
With the X-PEN platform, IMA Med-Tech is presenting a scalable solution for the final assembly of pen and autoinjectors - from manual to fully automated versions. Integrated tests, including force-displacement measurements and imaging, are designed to support consistent quality; applications addressed include diabetes, obesity and multiple sclerosis. The specified output ranges from 2 to 160 PPM.
Categorisation of cross-divisional topics
The Active (OSD processing), Life (aseptic and freeze-drying), Safe (primary/secondary packaging) and End-of-Line Hub divisions combine their offerings under the IMA Pharma umbrella. IMA Med-Tech complements the spectrum with assembly technologies for medical products - from drug delivery systems to in-vitro diagnostics and wearables.
