The Bundesverband Glasindustrie e.V. (BV Glas) will see a change in its chief executive on 1 July: Christiane Nelles will take over from Dr Johann Overath, who is retiring after more than 20 years with the association.
Christiane Nelles has worked for BV Glas for 17 years, most recently as Deputy Managing Director and Head of Energy and Climate Policy. In these roles, she was responsible for all issues relating to energy policy developments at national and European level.
Dr Johann Overath had been working for the BV Glas since 2002 and took over as Managing Director in 2006. Under his leadership, the office was restructured, the capital city office in Berlin was established and the association, which had previously consisted of four specialist groups, was successfully merged into a single association.
„We are delighted to have found a successor in Christiane Nelles, who not only has many years of experience in the glass industry, but also in association work. She therefore has the ideal qualifications to accompany the glass industry in the coming years with all its challenges. Our thanks go to Dr Johann Overath, who has represented the interests of the glass industry with great commitment, especially during the crises of recent years.“
BV-Glas President Dr Christian Quenett
