As an association, Pro Carton not only brings together the various players in the carton and folding carton sector. With its awards, Pro Carton also honours successful packaging and designs and supports young talent. Winfried Mühling, Director Marketing and Communication, spoke with us at interpack.
Fibre-based packaging points the way to a low-carbon circular economy. Consumers also show a preference for renewable raw materials in packaging. But the materials must be used in a balanced way and the share of recycled fibre also plays an important role. In view of the ambitious goals of the EU’s Green Deal, fibre-based packaging seems to be convincing. Recycling and collection systems also play an important role here, because an increase in the recycling rate is also desirable for fibre-based materials.
