REA Elektronik now protects its labelling systems during transport with small prisms made of cardboard and padding material made of kraft paper. The entire packaging can therefore be disposed of in the waste paper bin.
The new filling material is basically the high-end version of crumpled paper. From now on, the manufacturer of labelling technology from Mühltal near Darmstadt will not only place its products in cardboard boxes for shipping, but also between many small cardboard prisms - and, where necessary, also in kraft paper cushions.

The sustainable filling and padding material made from recycled paper replaces REA the previous chips made of foamed plastic, which are not biodegradable, are unfortunately often found in nature and, in the worst case, are mistaken by children for something edible. Light and heavy, sensitive or robust goods now reach their destination in an equally safe and environmentally friendly way - embedded in the new material made from 100 per cent environmentally friendly waste paper.
Cardboard prisms are stable
Each individual cardboard part is extremely stable due to its prism shape. In their entirety, the prisms have excellent properties as filling material, as they are cavity filling and padding at the same time: They nestle around the transported goods and interlock with each other thanks to their jagged edges. They keep a firm grip on the products so that they arrive safely and securely at the customer. They are also antistatic and dust-free.
For particularly heavy or sensitive parts, REA also uses a patented folding and stapling process to produce its own protective paper padding from kraft paper. It has excellent shock-absorbing properties and is just as environmentally friendly, dust-free and recyclable as the paper prisms. Once at their destination, all packaging for deliveries from REA can now be easily recycled. returned to the material cycle via the waste paper bin become.
