Optimum packaging with cartons in modular design

The FLEXABOX cardboard packaging system enables ergonomic loading of pallets without any loss of stability, transport safety or stackability. The quality and size of the packaging can also be customised for each product

Antalis Verpackungen and co-operation partner SW-Paratus jointly launch the FLEXABOX carton packaging system on the German market. The patented modular design of the new system enables the ergonomic loading of pallets without any loss of stability, transport safety or stackability. The quality and size of the packaging can also be customised to any product with the FLEXABOX. According to the company, this offers very flexible and cost-optimised design options for a wide range of customers - regardless of the industry or type of freight.

Massive increases in logistics costs over the last two years and the need for a more sustainable use of resources and cargo space capacities are leading to an increased change of heart across the industry.

„Many customers are looking for an intelligent and customised transport solution for their products, but don't know which system is best suited to their needs or simply can't find one“
Lars Wellerdiek, Managing Director of SW-Paratus

Previous systems for shipping pallets were, ergonomically speaking, difficult to fill, bulky and inflexible. The available cardboard boxes are often cut to make them easier to fill and then unprofessionally glued together again, making it almost impossible to stack several boxes on top of each other in the loading space of a lorry.

„For this reason, the system has a modular design. By using the FLEXABOX stabilisers and the cardboard rings, the packaging can be flexibly adapted to any height and any pallet size.“
Kai Kettler, Key Account Manager for protective packaging at Antalis Verpackungen

Patented expertise for maximum flexibility

The basic structure of the FLEXABOX system starts with a basic box, which consists of a customised folding carton or a carton base with an inserted ring. The stabilisers developed and patented by SW-Paratus are then placed on this cardboard ring, creating the basis for a further ring. This procedure is repeated until the desired height is reached and the product is ready for use. packed to the ideal size is. The packaging is then finished off with a lid and is ready to be tied or stretched.

In addition to the flexibility, the gradual build-up of the box height also enables the Ergonomic filling of the packaging, without a high loading edge. In addition, the flexible stabilisers guarantee high strength. With a tested static load capacity of up to two tonnes and a dynamic load capacity of 600 kilograms, FLEXABOX as stackable shipping packaging offers a high level of stability. Solid basis for logistics processes. The quality of the rings is always selected according to the required stacking load.

Following successful pre-series tests, the FLEXABOX packaging system will be available from September 2019.
