CCL EcoStream labels receive official recognition

CCL Label's EcoStream labels have been officially recognised by the European PET Bottle Platform and the Association of Plastic Recyclers.

The separation and recycling of labels plays an important role in the recycling of PET bottles. CCL Label is constantly developing its EcoStream labels and these have now been recognised by the European PET Bottle Platform (EPBP) and the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR).

CCL Label has introduced a new generation of its EcoStream labels, which support the recycling of PET bottles at a high quality level. They consist of buoyant polyolefin material with low density, which separates very easily from the heavier PET flakes in the sink/float process of the sorter and the recycler - with the result that clean PET flakes, which can then be recycled into new bottles. which closes the cycle.

„The official recognition by the European PET Bottle Platform and the Association of Plastic Recyclers in the United States underlines the performance of the label in the recycling process and its compatibility with existing recycling streams and technologies.“

Reinhard Streit, Vice President and Managing Director Food&Beverage Europe at CCL

Freshly blown and immediately labelled bottles can cause wrinkles or bubbles on normal labels. The pressure-sensitive EcoStream SP labels have been developed to minimise the risk of ensure perfect labelling thanks to flexible properties, which are particularly suitable for PET bottles after shrinking. All other properties of the basic EcoStream labels remain unchanged and enable perfect and clean separation without contamination or discolouration of the wash bath or PET flakes.
