Henkel Adhesive Technologie wants to promote the global recycling of self-adhesive labels and has therefore joined CELAB. The association is committed to a global circular economy for labels.

The initiative founded in October 2020 CELAB (Circular Economy for Labels) has set itself the goal of Improve the sustainability of self-adhesive labels and the Material recycling of all components to make this possible. At CELAB, the specialist for solutions in adhesives, sealants and functional coatings works together with other companies along the value chain. The aim is to support regional initiatives and promote the universal introduction of industry-wide best practices to enable global solutions.

CELAB for standardised solutions

With regional groups in Europe and North America, CELAB Standardised solutions The aim of the project is to promote awareness of the major differences in production processes and recycling capabilities in different markets. Various areas of work deal with matrix and release liner recycling, including analysing technical issues, the Promotion of recycling networks, interaction with government supervisory authorities and educating the industry and the public.

According to Henkel, packaging adhesives from Henkel are developed with a strong focus on the needs of consumers. Among other things, the products enable labelling solutions for safe and sustainable packaging.
