Dr Ralf Düssel is the new Chairman of the Association of Plastics Manufacturers in Germany. The general meeting of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e. V. in Hamburg has now elected him as the successor to Dr Michael Zobel.
Dr Ralf Düssel began his professional career in 1996 at Degussa Marl & Hanau. In 2001, he became site manager at Degussa Waterford in the USA before moving to Evonik in Essen in 2005. After holding several management positions within the company, Düssel is now responsible for Evonik's global high-performance polymers business from Marl since February 2018. He is also a member of the steering board of the pan-European association Plastics Europe in Brussels.
„Our industry is undergoing a transformation towards a circular and climate-neutral industry. We are actively driving this important transformation forward with climate-friendly solutions and the use of alternative raw materials - in an increasingly volatile market environment. The fact is that the decisive course is being set for the future of our industry, and I am looking forward to being at the forefront.“
