Chocal Packaging Solutions GmbH, based in Schwäbisch Gmünd, was honoured with the SPC Innovator Award for its environmentally friendly packaging solutions.
The Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) aims to support companies in developing and implementing environmentally friendly packaging solutions. „Paperisation of everything“ is considered the number one global trend. According to this, the packaging of the future will consist of paper based on sustainable forestry. According to the SPC jury, Chocal's packaging is exactly in line with this megatrend.
„The right material and as little of it as possible is our guiding principle,“ explains CEO Alexander von Niessen. Chocal uses Natural, renewable materials for packaging that is both recyclable and certified compostable.
Customers have a choice: they are either supplied directly with customised packaging in various shapes, colours and sizes or with the machines for inline production. Chocal machines integrate seamlessly into production lines and offer plug-and-play functionality for quick set-up and immediate operation.
The new packaging developments have a number of advantages: According to the company, they enable Cost savings of up to 50 per cent, a reduction in CO2-emissions by 82 per cent and a 70 per cent reduction in the use of materials.
