There has been a change in the chairmanship of the Management Board of Düsseldorf-based Gerresheimer AG. Dr Christian Fischer has headed the board since 1 September. The 53-year-old took over from Uwe Röhrhoff, two years his senior, who has left the company.
Düsseldorf-based Gerresheimer AG has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer. Dr Christian Fischer took over from Uwe Röhrhoff on 1 September. Since 1 August, the 53-year-old Dr Fischer has been a full member of the Executive Board of the company, which manufactures speciality products from Glass and Plastic for the Pharmaceuticals- and Healthcare-industry.
The 55-year-old Uwe Röhrhoff was Chairman of the Management Board for seven years and an employee of Gerresheimer AG for a total of 26 years. He has now left the company. The Supervisory Board recognised his „outstanding performance“ for the company in the strategic realignment of the company portfolio and in the operating business.
According to the Supervisory Board, the new CEO has many years of management and industrial experience that qualify him for the new role. Before joining Gerresheimer AG, the new CEO was most recently President of the Performance Chemicals Division at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, where he had worked since 1993. Dr Christian Fischer is a graduate chemist and business economist. He was appointed Honorary Professor at the Technical University of Munich in 2014.
In addition to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer Rainer Beaujean and Andreas Schütte for the „Plastics and Devices“ division to the Gerresheimer Management Board.
