Accelerator programme enters the next round

The Circular Economy Accelerator is once again inviting start-ups from all over the world to apply for the funding programme with innovative ideas. The focus this time is on six topics.

The Circular Economy Accelerator is once again inviting start-ups from all over the world to apply for the funding programme with innovative ideas. The focus this time is on six topics.

The application phase for the Circular Economy Accelerator funding programme has started. International start-ups can apply with their ideas and business models. The Application portal is until 27 July 2025 open.

We are looking for young companies from all over the world that are interested in innovative solutions for a circular economy work. For this round, the jury focussed on six topics:

  • Design4Circularity
  • Reverse Logistics
  • Industrial symbiosis
  • Metals in the loop
  • Carbon & Climate
  • Digitalisation as an enabler for the circular economy

However, start-ups can also apply for other topics via the wildcard and become part of the programme.

More than 130 start-ups from six continents have been part of the Accelerator programme so far and have used it to significantly develop their ideas. In the large Circular Valley network, the funding programme has already led to many important and sustainable cooperation between start-ups and partners of the initiative.

The highlight is the Circular Valley Forum on 14 November  

The application phase runs until the end of July. Selected applicants will then be invited to interviews. The jury of members from the Circular Valley network will decide at the end of August which 15 start-ups will be part of the new funding round.

The start-ups come to the extended Rhine-Ruhr region from the end of October to mid-November and benefit from the expertise and contacts of the Circular Valley network. They will work with experts from industry, science and business in the three-week on-site programme on their ideas and presentations.

The highlight of her visit is the Circular Valley Forum on 14 November, where they can present their ideas at Demo Day and talk to potential supporters and cooperation partners at their own stand.
