The Swiss Corvaglia Group is launching a new HDPE closure for aseptic carton packaging, extending its expertise from the PET bottle sector to a new packaging category. 

Corvaglia has been developing one-piece closure solutions for PET beverage bottles for over thirty years. In total, over 1.2 trillion caps have been produced using Corvaglia injection moulds. With the SabreCap, the company is now bringing its Expertise from the field of closures for PET beverage bottles into the category of carton packaging - an important step towards realising efficient, precise and economical closure solutions in this segment as well.

The innovative cutting surface design ensures a particularly Clean cuts through the sealing film - an important prerequisite for effortless opening of the packaging. At the same time, the design helps to ensure that less residue remains in the packaging after pouring - a benefit for consumers and a contribution to reducing food waste. The shape is also easy to grip, making it particularly suitable for people with smaller hands or reduced hand strength. The Low opening torque facilitates unscrewing while the simple resealing process makes for a convenient user experience.

Compatible with existing filling lines

The SabreCap can be seamlessly integrated into existing carton packaging systems - without any technical adjustments. It therefore offers bottling companies a high degree of flexibility and investment security. The large process window for applying the closure also supports a stable and efficient production process.

The SabreCap is made from 100 per cent HDPE, which makes it particularly easy to recycle. The use of a single material facilitates recycling and increases the value of the plastic for recycling companies - an important step towards a more sustainable circular economy.

The SabreCap, which has been in series production at the Corvaglia US plant in Newnan, Georgia since the beginning of the year, marks an important milestone in the company's own cap development and will continue the innovation of the SabreCap. at numerous international trade fairs over the course of the year present.
