Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and Merlin Entertainments are continuing their recycling initiative in summer 2025, once again offering families across the UK the chance to win „unforgettable experiences“ by recycling a single plastic bottle.
The campaign runs from 1 July to 7 September 2025 and includes 30 reverse vending machines at 12 popular Merlin leisure attractions.
Participants who hand in an empty 500 ml plastic bottle in one of the specially designed reverse vending machines will receive a ticket to take part in a prize draw. The main prizes include exclusive VIP experiences, it is said.
Cadbury World will also be taking part in the initiative for the first time in 2025, offering special prizes such as a Cadbury Character Afternoon Tea. In addition to Cadbury World, Legoland Windsor, Legoland Discovery Centre Birmingham, Warwick Castle, The Blackpool Tower and several Sea Life locations in London, Brighton, Birmingham and Blackpool are also represented.
Since the campaign was launched Over 175,000 plastic bottles have already been collected by the take-back system, it says. Jo Padwick, Senior Sustainability Manager at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, said: „With the addition of Cadbury World prizes, we are offering our customers an even more attractive incentive to recycle their bottles.“
Communicating sustainability through play
Sarah Kilgannon, Head of Partnerships UK at Merlin, emphasised: „We want to create exceptional experiences - and do so responsibly. By rewarding families for sustainable behaviour, we inspire them to become part of our environmental journey.“
The machines could be found via employees or the respective app of the attraction. After the recycling process, participants receive a receipt with a link to the competition page.
