With a new coffee capsule concept made from 100% biodegradable cellulose, a start-up from Münster is now offering a new product line. The young company produces aluminium-free, compostable and CO²-neutral capsules made from biodegradable bioplastic.
After use, these capsules end up in the organic waste and not in the residual waste pile. The company's idea for this was born out of the growing displeasure at having to throw a large number of non-degradable metal capsules into the residual waste every day. Once the cellulose capsules had been successfully produced, the next step was to find suitable fillings.

With his company Impearlia, founder Alex Stoll went in search of a suitable partner and found a coffee roaster from England. All beans come from 100 per cent organic cultivation.
The bio-capsule consists of a bio-plastic made from renewable raw materials. The technical additives are also biodegradable and environmentally friendly. According to the company, special emphasis is also placed on sustainable and environmentally friendly production of the organic capsules.
