Rondo Ganahl AG has taken full control of Rondo Offset S.A. in Sibiu, Romania. After receiving approval from the Romanian competition authorities, the company acquired the remaining 40 per cent of the shares from Offsetdruckerei Schwarzach GmbH.
With this acquisition, the Rondo Ganahl AG their Market leadership in corrugated board packaging in Romania. In addition to the plant in Sibiu, the company operates two other sites in Romania, namely in Târgoviște and Apahida/Cluj. The latter was established back in 1999 and forms the cornerstone of the company's successful expansion in Romania.
The CEO of Rondo Ganahl AG, Hubert Marte, described the takeover as an important step in the company's growth strategy. At the same time, he emphasised the importance of the complete takeover for securing the company's long-term market position and opening up new business areas.

The acquisition comes at an important time for Rondo, as the company is celebrating its anniversary this year. 25th anniversary of its first branch in Apahida/Cluj. This event emphasises Rondo's deep roots and long-term commitment to Romania. The anniversary celebrations will include various events for customers, partners and employees, including a reception and an open day. These activities will honour the shared successes of the past 25 years and lay the foundation for many more successful years to come.
Since the first contact between Teofil Câmpean and Rondo Budapest in 1999, Rondo in Romania has developed from an ambitious project into a major player in the industry. The vision of Dr Günther Krametter, the Chairman of the Management Board at the time, to develop the most modern corrugated board plant in the country, has now become a reality.
