A new generation of PLC technology from Beckhoff Automation GmbH & Co. KG, Verl, Germany, seamlessly integrates an advanced chatbot function: TwinCAT PLC++ enables a real leap in performance in automation technology.
Both engineering and runtime can be significantly accelerated while maintaining consistent integration, compatibility and openness. In the runtime, the same control code can be executed one and a half times faster compared to the previous TwinCAT PLC. And as a special highlight, the new TwinCAT PLC++ compiler makes it possible to additionally optimise the control code in terms of execution time and thus achieve an overall performance gain of up to a factor of three.
Thanks to the modern compiler technology and the new architecture used, the enhanced TwinCAT CoAgent chatbot function, for example, has been deeply integrated as an efficient programming assistant (Fig.). The agent can provide effective support for a wide range of tasks: from precise textual and graphical code suggestions to smart code optimisations and the automatic creation of comprehensive documentation. The content generated by TwinCAT CoAgent can be easily integrated into existing engineering projects after being checked by the user.
TwinCAT CoAgent also provides direct access to the comprehensive Beckhoff documentation and supports the development of user-friendly HMI controls. In this way, user interfaces can be designed and configured faster and more intuitively than before.
