The reusable packaging manufacturer KeepIn and the nature conservation organisation WWF Germany have entered into a partnership. Together, they want to raise awareness of reusable solutions and encourage their use.

KeepIn would like to work together with the WWF Germany to further promote awareness of reusable solutions in Germany. KeepIn is a subsidiary brand of Jokey Group and specialises in the production of high-quality and safe reusable plastic packaging for food. The use of recyclable reusable products has an immense impact on resource consumption and waste generationAccording to a recent study by the WWF and Society for Packaging Market Research (gvm) 14.6 billion meals and drinks are sold in disposable packaging every year in Germany alone and this packaging produces more than 270,000 tonnes of waste. The reusable packaging obligation that has been in force in Germany since 2023 for restaurants, bistros and cafés, for example, was intended to initiate a reusable turnaround.

„Unfortunately, we have to realise that there are still many obstacles that prevent businesses from offering food and drinks in reusable containers. A decisive factor here is often a lack of information. Many businesses simply don't know what reusable systems and solutions are available.“

Ramona Lob, Head of the new Reusable Packaging Business Unit in the Jokey Group

There is also still little interest from customers in reusable packaging. With their cooperation, KeepIn and the WWF want to make the catering industry, companies and consumers more aware of the importance of reusable packaging. Clarify the added value of reusable offers. The declared aim is for reusable packaging to become the new standard.

KeepIn technically offers up to 100 per cent recyclable reusable products such as the classic ToGo coffee cup, bowls and trays. All products are optimised to use as little material as possible. For example, the cups are produced using a special foaming process (ecoCore process). Thanks to the innovative production technology, KeepIn Save up to 50 per cent material compared to conventional (plastic) reusable cups. This conserves resources, is more environmentally friendly and therefore produces less CO2-emissions. The packaging is made of 100 per cent polypropylene and is manufactured exclusively in Germany. In addition, the company is already actively involved in shaping the market through strategic partnerships with national and international reusable systems, such as Relevo in Germany, the Danish deposit system New Loop and the Spanish reusable system Bumerang.
