Panther Packaging brings mobility and environmentally friendly packaging together. The focus here is on the assembly of bicycles. There has been a boom in two-wheelers for some time now and this is being fuelled by rising fuel prices. The "bicycle garage" made of corrugated cardboard plays a central role in the time- and material-saving and environmentally friendly assembly solution.
The experts at Coswiger Wellpappe developed and realised this high-performance and sustainable packaging system. The Multi-part packaging accompanies the two-wheelers through all assembly stations. Between the various assembly steps, it serves as a storage-friendly logistics solution. Once the bicycles have been completed, they leave production well protected and are stored in the recyclable packaging on their journey to retailers and end customers.
The right vehicle for everyone
The bikes are not produced in a linear fashion, taking customer requirements into account; customised equipment is possible. Therefore the Production and assembly always differentThe work stations vary and must be controlled flexibly. Until now, this method of working has required a great deal of time to store the partially assembled bikes, including packing and unpacking between the work steps. At the end of the assembly process, the bicycles then require protective shipping packaging.
With the bicycle garage, the Time and materials required for production significantly reduced are made. The packaging, designed for the maximum dimensions of the bicycles (format 1880 x 740 x 1293 mm), is made of robust, load-bearing corrugated cardboard. It remains open at the top during in-house transport and assembly work. The front of the packaging can be opened and closed again as often as required using a Velcro strip attached to the side. This means that the bicycles in the Garage that accompanies all internal transport routes. The garage stands either on a wooden Euro pallet or on a corrugated cardboard pallet, manufactured by Panther.
The individual, individually printable components of the corrugated cardboard construction are assembled by the bicycle manufacturer to form the packaging that is designed for the specific assembly stations. This ensures that the Wheels are always securely fixed and protected - both during production and during despatch. A custom-fit snap-on lid is then fitted for transport to the end customer.
