The system integrator Material Handling Systems (MHS) has launched a new version of its HC-Loop cross-belt sorter. The enhanced automatic sorting system is now available with a second sorting cell.
MHS now also offers its automatic cross-belt sorting system as a double-cell system. In combination with a maximum conveyor belt speed of three metres per second, the Integrated second sorting cell the throughput of the system to almost 20,000 items per hour. This makes the HC-Loop particularly suitable for companies with large order volumes and a wide variety of parcels, such as e-commerce retailer.

The solution processes all containers regardless of their shape, size or surface finish. Thanks to the modular designs it can also be customised according to customer requirements and is also particularly robust.

The enhanced version of the sorting system, which was first launched on the market in 2019, is equipped with an automatic centring function. This ensures that the articles Precisely positioned in the centre of the flat conveyor surface and thus ensures constant discharge accuracy. In this way, even narrow exit chutes can be used and therefore floor space can be utilised efficiently.
The basis for the system's high throughput is the new linear MHS induction motor. Using intelligent algorithms, the integrated software first determines the optimum material flow in order to a smooth loading combination for the HC-Loop cross-belt sorter. In addition, the cross-belt sorter uses friction-resistant rails which, in combination with the curve design, help to reduce vibrations.
According to Ramadhin, the interplay of hardware and software not only ensures high precision: „The modular design of the solution enables a flexible layout, which saves even more space.“ MHS configures the automatic sorting system individually depending on customer requirements, in order to make optimum use of the available space.
MHS also only uses stainless steel for its solution. This makes the HC-Loop cross-belt sorter particularly durable and quiet. „We only use high-quality components. This, in combination with the compact design, requires Only low maintenance effort for the user“, says Ramadhin. In the event of a sudden, rare malfunction, the system continues to run and the repair can be postponed. In addition, one and the same cell type is suitable for the entire system and can therefore be easily replaced in a very short time, even by untrained personnel.
