At Fachpack, the Austrian company Delfort is presenting a transparent paper for viewing windows or complete transparent packaging that can be heat-sealed and recycled and is certified for direct food contact.
Whether it's a sandwich, soap or toy car: consumers are generally used to being able to inspect a product through the packaging or at least through a viewing window before buying it. This is why Delfort is now launching the Thinwrap Transparent Gloss HS transparent and heat-sealable paper for food and non-food on the market.
„With the new Thinwrap Transparent Gloss HS, viewing windows or complete paper packaging can now be used without compromising on protection, sealing properties or product presentation.“
Peter Hackl, Business Unit Manager Packaging at Delfort
A key technical feature is the fully coated A-A heat-sealable surface. This allows A single roll format for different packaging sizes and types printed and unprinted. The paper also has a glossy surface and is non-slip. It can be printed on in high quality using standard printing processes such as flexographic and gravure printing.
The new paper is made from FSC and/or PEFC-certified and controlled cellulose. It does not contain any added PFAS chemicals and fulfils the requirements of the US FDA and the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) for direct food contact.
Wide range of applications
The paper can be used as a window for packaging to-go products such as sandwiches and wraps or as a tubular bag to protect products that are presented in trays on the shelf (flowpacks). It is also suitable for toys, cosmetics, personal care products, clothing or as a cover for magazines, for example.
At Fachpack on 23 September from 2 to 4 p.m., Delfort will be presenting together with the research partner Delsci application examples for paper packaging in the exhibitor forum „Pavilion alternative packaging solutions“.
