Dematic has completed an automated buffering and sequencing system for Vectura AS. The new solution is capable of processing up to 150 pallets per hour and sequencing up to 460 pallets simultaneously.
The system is intended to speed up the logistics processes at Vectura AS, one of Norway's leading logistics service providers for alcoholic beverages, and enable the company to provide an even more efficient and responsive service. The new system provides an upgrade of the automated pallet warehouse of Vectura AS in Gjelleråsen near Oslo. With a 52 per cent share of the Norwegian market, Vectura supplies a total of 50 million pallets per year to wholesalers, the hotel and catering industry and state-owned vinmonopolet shops. These have the national monopoly in Norway for the sale of drinks with an alcohol content of more than 4.75 per mille.
The dynamic pallet shipping buffer integrated in the Dematic system Vectura enables a higher degree of automation for order preparation and processing. The automated buffer and sequencing system was installed on a mezzanine structure measuring around 700 square metres. It extends over two levels in order to make optimum use of the available space.
The pallets are prepared and buffered on one level and then transferred to the dispatch area on the other level using a lift and transfer trolley. This enables the system to processing up to 150 pallets per hour and sequencing up to 460 pallets at the same time.
„During the entire installation phase, we had no downtime whatsoever in our operating processes. With Dematic's support, we can now speed up our processes and respond even more efficiently and quickly to our customers“ needs."
Håvard Berg, IT and Business Development Manager at Vectura
