Digital watermarks are invisible barcodes, which cover the entire surface of the product packaging and contain information on the contents, packaging material and origin.
Digital watermarks open up new possibilities
They open up new possibilities along the entire value chain: from production, logistics and storage to purchasing, checkout and recycling.
More than 100 industry-leading companies are already part of the initiative and, under the leadership of AIM (European Brands Association) to scale up this promising approach.
The Schwarz Group himself is actively involved in the management team of HolyGrail 2.0 and thus further strengthens the focus on recycling and the circular economy. This is because the innovative technology enables More efficient and accurate sorting of recyclable materials in the recycling process, so that more plastic can be kept in circulation.
