Digitalisation in moulded fibre production

The Omni-Pac Group, provider of moulded fibre packaging, and HP are working together to digitise industrial moulded fibre production.

Omni-Pac Group, provider of moulded fibre packaging, and HP are working together to digitise industrial moulded fibre production. The cooperation enables Omni-Pac to reduce its CO2 emissions and replace single-use plastics with more sustainable packaging solutions.

„Thanks to this collaboration, we are improving the production of moulded fibre on an industrial scale and change the development, introduction and production of moulded fibre applications sustainably. Not only are we reducing our environmental impact, but we are also leading the way in sustainable packaging solutions,“ says Pablo Libreros, CEO Omni-Pac Group. „Thanks to digitalisation, we can Save over 500 tonnes of CO2 per machine per year, and the CO2 reduction will continue to improve as our collaboration with HP progresses.“

The HP's moulded fibre tooling solution offers a customised digital solution for greater efficiency and sustainability. The solution includes the new HP Molded Fiber Advanced Tooling technology, which optimises manufacturing processes and high-quality products with improved performance through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and customised features such as logos and patterns.

It also improves the sustainability of moulded fibre packaging solutions by reduced the CO2 footprint during mould and parts production, resulting in lighter parts with the same or better performance.
