Dr Datz GmbH has developed a special capping machine for an Irish gin bottler. It closes the bottles with a high-quality grip cork.
The new machine for an Irish gin bottler is used to fill bottles of 0.5, 0.7 and 0.75 litres, which are sealed with a high-quality, wide grip cork. The cork is made of cork, metal and turned wood. To close the bottles, Datz uses a Cork popping machine for use. It is used for inserting grip corks. Thanks to the high positioning accuracy using servo technology, all closures are optimally guided into the bottle mouth.
Capper to the gin bottling
Due to the very special closure Two work steps necessary: A pick & place station first positions the cork under the capping unit. When it is lowered, the cork is picked up and gently pressed into the bottle by a pneumatic system. The bottle travels one station further, stops, where a plunger presses the cork deep into the bottle to a predetermined position. In a further machine, the closure is then sealed with a Shrink film fixed. The output of this innovative machine is 2,500 bottles per hour. The capping unit is extremely low-maintenance and low-wear thanks to its production from hardened components. However, there is one fly in the ointment: Datz in Andernach is still waiting for the „Go!“ from Ireland to dispatch the machine, as the coronavirus pandemic has led to delays.

[infotext icon]The foundation stone of Dr. Datz Maschinenbau GmbH was laid with a swing stopper machine for beer bottles. Dr Hermann Datz initially designed this purely mechanically in the early 1950s. Due to its high production quality and the clear rationalisation effects, the machine quickly found many customers among breweries. The resounding success led to the founding of Dr. Datz Maschinenbau GmbH in 1956. Over the following decades, the company continued to develop its technology, gradually designing innovative, electronically controlled specialised machines. The company's strategic focus is on capping and unscrewing bottles and other containers of all kinds[/infotext].Source: Dr Datz GmbH
