
On 2 and 3 December 2020, the German Packaging Institute e. V. (dvi) is inviting all players from industry, brands, retail, science and research to the industry's traditional end-of-year meeting in the digital space. The networking platform will focus on the transition to a fully circular packaging economy, the potential and impact of digitalisation and new, sustainable solutions.
Do we need a packaging revolution? Or hasn't the future of packaging already begun? Do we come to the Recycling and the circular economy ahead? What does the Recycling practice and recyclates out? What about Plastic from CO2? How to play Design and sustainability Hand in hand? And what does the reusable future hold for catering and retail? These and other questions are at the centre of the31st Dresden Packaging Conference, which is also taking place this year in the form of the „Digital Packaging Days“.
The experts presenting at the event organised by Metsä Board and the Gerhard Schubert GmbH The network meeting, which will be supported by the network, includes the following for the circular economy and recyclate sector Gunda Rachut, Management Board of Central Agency Packaging Register Foundation; Christian Schiller, Managing Director at Cirplus GmbH and Joachim Christiani, Managing Director at Cyclos HTP. In addition Laura Griestop, Manager Sustainable Business and Markets at WWF Germany, presented the new study “Packaging turnaround now! - How to achieve the transition to a circular economy for plastics in Germany” for discussion.
Matchmaking tool for exchanging ideas and networking
With a view to new solutions and innovative approaches, market leaders, start-ups and researchers will be presenting products, projects and strategies under the motto “The future has already begun”. For example Jonathan Fabarius, head of the Microbial Catalysis research group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology, are investigating whether the production of plastics from CO2 is a disruptive opportunity for the industry.
For in-depth dialogue and networking participants of the conference will once again have access to a matchmaking tool, which celebrated its successful industry premiere at last year's event. As usual, the Dresden Packaging Conference will once again feature Numerous students of packaging-related degree programmes participate. For company representatives, this is an opportunity to get to know the best employees of tomorrow today.
