The 34th Dresden Packaging Conference, which will take place on 5 and 6 December 2024, will offer a comprehensive update: with top-class speakers such as Michael Kretschmer, Minister President of the Free State of Saxony, and new programme items, the event will focus on reusable strategies, AI applications and sustainable innovations.
On 5 and 6 December 2024, the German Packaging Institute e.V. (dvi) is hosting the 34th Dresden Packaging Conference. Under the motto „Shaping the future“, this year's conference will focus on topics such as reusable strategies, AI applications in the circular economy and sustainable packaging innovations. Over 200 participants from industry, trade, science and research are expected to attend.
Focus on reusable packaging
The conference examines whether reusable packaging is a sustainable solution or an illusion. Experts such as Laura Griestop from WWF Germany and Barbara Möbius from Tchibo will discuss global, European and national approaches. Practical examples from Cartonplast and dotch illustrate how reusable solutions can be scaled up in the food and beverage industry.
Artificial intelligence and the circular economy
The AI application hub for plastic packaging presents advances in resource conservation through innovative IT models and packaging development software. Participants will gain insights into two innovation labs that present concrete solutions for the circular economy.
Another highlight is the discussion on strategies and innovations in the packaging industry. Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller and INEOS Styrolution will show ways of integrating mechanical recyclates, while Reckitt and Rossmann will highlight sustainable packaging approaches. Herrmann Ultraschall will be demonstrating pioneering technologies for sustainable packaging.
Start-ups and young talent
On 4 December, watttron GmbH and FormerFab GmbH invite you to a free in-house exhibition. A networking evening with the conference partners will round off the programme.
Registrations for the conference and in-house exhibition are available at Website of the German Packaging Institute possible.
