The German manufacturer of security papers, Drewsen Spezialpapier, has taken over the British manufacturer of high-security papers, Portals Paper. With this strategic acquisition, the two specialists aim to complement each other's expertise.

At a time when counterfeits are becoming increasingly easy to generate and distribute, the partners see the merger as a significant development. Together they want to offer a wide range of security features for paper solutions, which guarantee diverse and even the highest level of counterfeit protection.

The takeover follows a clear vision: The individual strengths of both companies are preserved, while synergies will be utilised in a targeted manner to offer an expanded product portfolio and the best service to joint customers worldwide. Both companies will continue to operate as independent organisations and further strengthen their respective areas of expertise and competences. By combining the technical capabilities of Drewsen and Portals - including Fourdrinier and cylinder mould paper machines or the ultra-modern sizing equipment at Drewsen - there are clear competitive advantages.

„This acquisition marks an important milestone for both companies. It stands for our confidence in the future and our shared ambition to create the highest quality and customised solutions for the security paper industry. By joining forces, we are developing solutions that offer our customers real added value and are optimally tailored to their needs.“
