The new servo amplifiers PMC SI6 and PMC SC6 from Pilz enable drive-integrated safety functions up to the highest safety level PL e. The amplifiers also reduce costs by eliminating the need for additional sensors.

Mushroom with the PMC SI6 and PMC SC6 servo amplifiers provides a Flexible solution for safe motion applications which integrates safety functions directly into the drive. These achieve SIL 3 or PL e without the need for a second encoder. Instead, a standard feedback system is sufficient, which reduces the overall costs.

The safe motion functions include safe stop, motion and braking functions such as SS1, SS2, SOS and SLS. Thanks to FSoE technology (FailSafe over EtherCAT), the servo drives can be efficiently integrated into safety concepts. FSoE also enables Safe cross-communication between the drives, which minimises wiring work and speeds up commissioning.

Saving space and costs

The servo drives are designed for different applications. The PMC SC6 is ideal for compact machines with two to four axes, while the PMC SI6 is designed for multi-axis systems and larger installations. Both models utilise the central power supply of the PMC PS6 supply module, which means that No need for separate power supply units. This saves space and further reduces costs.
