DS Smith invests 16 million euros in the Logatec site. At the same time, production in Brestanica is discontinued.

The packaging industry is facing challenging market conditions that are forcing companies to adapt their strategies and refocus their resources. DS Smith has responded to these challenges by announcing a strategic reorganisation of its activities in Slovenia. A key part of this transformation is an investment of 16 million euros in the expansion of capacity at the Logatec site.

Investment in Logatec

With the investment in Logatec, DS Smith aims to further expand its capabilities in the area of sustainable packaging solutions. This move emphasises the company's commitment to providing high quality and customer-focused solutions. Ana Soldo, Managing Director of the Eastern EMEA sub-region, emphasised that the investment is aimed at strengthening the business and supporting sustainable growth. „In response to the challenging market conditions, we are strengthening our business to support sustainable growth and focus on the needs of our customers,“ said Soldo.

Closure in Brestanica

As part of the reorganisation, production at the Brestanica site will be discontinued. This decision was made despite the ongoing sales, marketing and innovation activities as well as other support functions in the region.
